Lessons designed around how children actually learn
Young learners need patience, encouragement and a lot of fun. Our teachers bring all three to every single lesson.
Patient, kind teachers
Gentle, encouraging and endlessly patient — the kind of teacher who turns nervous first-timers into confident little pianists.
Fun comes first
Games, songs your child loves and plenty of praise keep lessons feeling like the best part of the week.
Lessons at home
No after-school rushing. Your child learns in a familiar, comfortable space with you close by.
Confidence that carries over
Learning an instrument builds focus, patience and self-belief that shows up in school and beyond.
Exams if you want them
Aim for ABRSM or Trinity grades, or simply play for joy — your child’s journey, at your child’s pace.
Happy-match guarantee
If your child doesn’t click with their teacher, we’ll find a better fit, free of charge.
How we teach children
Start with joy
First lessons focus on fun and familiarity — simple tunes, gentle games, and a big sense of achievement.
Build strong foundations
Posture, hand shape and note-reading are woven in naturally, so good habits form from the very beginning.
Grow with structure
As skills develop, your child follows a clear path with real pieces, gentle challenges and steady milestones.
Celebrate progress
Regular wins — a new song, a passed grade, a mini home concert — keep motivation high and smiles wide.
From first curiosity to confident performer
Ages 4–6
Playful introduction to the keyboard, rhythm and listening — short, joyful lessons that suit little attention spans.
Ages 7–9
Note-reading, both hands together and first real pieces, with the option to begin graded exams when ready.
Ages 10–12
Growing repertoire, stronger technique and exam preparation for children who want to take things further.
Teens
Pop, classical or exam-focused lessons that fit around a busy school schedule and keep music a joy, not a chore.

What parents often ask
What’s the best age to start?
Four to six is a wonderful window, but every child is different. If your child shows interest in music, they’re ready to begin.
How long are lessons for young children?
Weekly 45-minute lessons work well for most children. For very young beginners, teachers naturally adjust the pace and focus.
Does my child need to practise a lot?
A little and often is best — even 10–15 minutes a day makes a big difference. Teachers set gentle, achievable goals.
Do we need a piano at home?
For practice, yes — but you can rent a quality instrument from an affordable monthly fee. We’ll help you arrange everything.
