Since the age of 6, Bernadette discovered and developed her passion in music. She was a church organist cum pianist during her youth and also a current pianist with a church choir. In large scale performances, Bernadette was the lead keyboardist in a musical and had performed as a pianist at the then-Ministry of the Environment. As part of her continual quest of learning and upgrading, she is currently pursuing a graded course in vocals and the Licentiate Diploma in Piano Recital.

Bernadette believes that every student is a unique individual and lessons would be catered to bring out the best of each student. She adopts a flexible approach to teaching – being comfortable in helping students with the different Examination Boards namely ABRSM, Trinity College London, Rockschool and London College of Music Examinations. For leisure students, she would customise a learning program to cater to the interest and learning needs so that the student is able to transition to a graded curriculum if he/she wants to.

In summary, Bernadette has been teaching the piano since 2009 with students ranging from preschoolers to adults. The highest level taught is at Diploma level, specifically in Music Teaching at NAFA. In addition, over 90% of her students who had taken their graded examinations had scored merit or distinction.
