Velda started learning piano at the age of 3 and went on to attain her ABRSM Practical Grade 8. She has extensive experience and spent decades in public performances, such as performing in musicals and choreographing her primary school’s Talentime. She went on to choreograph public performances and dances in secondary school and won numerous Gold with Honours Awards at the Bi-annaul Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) in Chinese Dance over seven years.
Velda participated in the inaugural Multi-Cultural Music Marathon in 2008, organised by Republic Polytechnic and North West Community Development Council, performing Chopin’s Waltz in B minor at 14. She was eventually awarded the National Youth Achievement Award (Silver) in 2009. She continues to contribute her musical skills at corporate Dinner and Dance programmes, private and national events.
