Last Sunday, there were more than thousands of visitors who joined in the fun at the Festival Of Cycling in Finsbury Park in the London Borough of Haringey. Some of the most weird, interesting and fun activities were witness on that very day.

One of the most intense activity was the Rollapaluza, in which two people race against each other on static bikes. This event on its own managed to attract 72 racers. Then, there was the guy known as Dr Bike, who was providing a service of fixing bikes for free. In all, he fixed 120 bicycles at the special stand in the park. The police Safer Neighbourhood Teams were also there to aid in protecting the bikes from being stolen. There was a showcase of different wonky fun bikes, games and cycling information. Perhaps one of the most unique grand cycles was one that was disguised as a piano. This alone attracted a whole lot of attention.

The Festival Of Cycling was a tri-borough event in partnership with Islington and Hackney councils. “This festival was a great success, attracting visitors from nearby counties and children from across London. This just shows how much scope there is for getting more people cycling for fun and to keep fit,” stated Cllr Nilgun Canver, cabinet member for the environment. Aside from the fun aspects of the festival, there were also other more serious matters being addressed. A total of 75 people took turns to sit in the cab of a large truck in order to witness first-hand the difficulty for drivers of large vehicles to notice cyclists. This small example went a long way to reinforce the importance of taking extra care when cycling around larger vehicles. For more of the story as well as pictures of the piano tricycle, you can read it from here.

Unfortunately, at Awesome Piano, we do not have any unique pianos like that of the piano tricycle. However, we do have committed and dedicated piano teachers available in assist in your learning. Nowadays, there are a lot more parents signing their children up for piano lessons in Singapore as well. They feel that playing the piano can help their child to de-stress, while they pick up a new skill. Fret not if you do not have a piano at home. You can always choose to learn it over at the teacher’s place. Alternatively, you can take a look at our piano rental scheme.
